ISO: History of Poster Competitions

Hello. I am looking for information on the history of poster competitions in general as well as descriptions of specific instances and famous artists/designers who may have been participants.
I have found books on the history of the poster, but none yet that include mention of contests or competitions. 
Any help or advice, what to search or where would be welcomed.

    Here a few resources that may be of help. The first book is a history of poster competitions in Germany

    The Warsaw Poster Biennale has a special history and this book will be helpful for researchers – while it is in Polish primarily, it does have summaries in English.

    Researchers may want to look at this site for journals on Posters – Plakate and Affiche are important ones to view.

    I trust that you have contacted the The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).

    My own printing History research has me returning again and again to the printing trade journals The Inland Printer and Graphic Arts Monthly. For your objective, IP will likely be the more fruitful publication.
