Please join us for a tour through the treasures of UCLA’s East Asian Library on Thursday,
October 22, 2009 from 2 to 4 pm. Librarians Toshie Marra and Hong Cheng will be
showing items of early printed Japanese and Chinese texts and images from the EAL’s
extensive collection. These include Buddhist manuscripts from the 12th through 14th
centuries, early printed works from movable type, and scrolls and books with handwritten
or carved characters.
The deadline for receipt of early bird registrations for the Oct. 15–16, 2010 APHA Conference at the Corcoran in Washington D.C. is September 15.
